Hunter S. Thompson

Hunter S. Thompson was an American journalist and author who wrote The Rum Diary , Fear and Loathing in Las VegasFear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail ’72The Curse of Lono, and Hell’s Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. He is known also for his lifelong use of alcohol, LSD, mescaline, and cocaine, his love of firearms.

Hunter seems like another Jack Kerouac both sharing their love for life, in bad vices and the ability to write  document all their mischievous ways. Some would argue that Hunter was wasted talented party boy or just a fool that everyone loved. But read his quotes or his literature their certainly is a beautiful mind under all that torment.

Famous quotes by Hunter S. Thompson

Some people will tell you that slow is good – but I’m here to tell you that fast is better.  I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me.  Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube.  That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba…

No man is so foolish but he may sometimes give another good counsel, and no man so wise that he may not easily err if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master.

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

About thematerialsleuth

I work in the digital industry and this blog is an outlet for things that I admire whether its design, interior, graphic, fashion, styling, industrial, architecture, art, illustration, music or other bloggers etc. I constantly search for different artists who do not grab the media attention or have high profiles brand ambassadors pushing their products.
