Jean Paul Gaultier: spring summer 2013

This summer the JPG man is not just a sailor but a world traveller. He’s sailed the seven seas and experienced every exotic culture, his appearance a swirl of cultural influences from East and West. Turbans, mandarin collars and embelishments reflect this. On the more literal nautical front, flat square sailor collars were prominent. One even manifested, in intricately beaded form, on a black evening jacket. Shirts and a slouchy short-sleeved jumpsuit were presented in a print that had a vintage sailor-tattoo appeal. Go for these in a regular collar – not the sailor collar – if you want to keep it understated.

About thematerialsleuth

I work in the digital industry and this blog is an outlet for things that I admire whether its design, interior, graphic, fashion, styling, industrial, architecture, art, illustration, music or other bloggers etc. I constantly search for different artists who do not grab the media attention or have high profiles brand ambassadors pushing their products.
