Mos Def and Talib Kweli

tms: Music is integral part of most people lives subliminal people do not realised what a profound impact that it has spiritual. During my time at high school it was birth of thrash mental bands from Seattle for me the Mud honeys, R’N’B and Hip hop. Black star takes their audience back to the roots of what music that has moved them and in turn allow both artist to become influential people  in their own right. Among the many that influence Hip hop like The roots, J Dila, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, Madlib, DJ Premier and Wu Tangs RZA.

Mos Def and Talib Kweli push forward to collaborate there energies and synergies to create black star.

Mos Def

Dante Terrell Smith (born December 11, 1973) is an American actor and MC known by the stage nameMos Def. Mos Def started his hip hop career in a group called Urban Thermo Dynamics, after which he appeared on albums by Da Bush Babees and De La Soul. With Talib Kweli, he formed the duo Black Star, who released the album Black Star in 1998. He was a major force in the late 1990s underground hip hop explosion spearheaded by Rawkus Records. As a solo artist he has released the albums Black on Both Sides in 1999, The New Danger in 2004, True Magic in 2006, and The Ecstatic in 2009.

Talib Kweli

Talib Kweli Greene (born October 3, 1975), better known as Talib Kweli, is an American MC from Brooklyn, New York. He is one of the most critically, if not commercially, successful rappers in Hip hop music. His first name in Arabic means “student” or “seeker”; his middle name in Swahili means “true”. Kweli first gained recognition through Black Star, a collaboration with fellow MC Mos Def.
