My biography would go right about here. Hopefully one day it will be interesting, and full of inspiring anecdotes. A funny story or quip, followed by a short but memorable observation that could entice a smile. In conclusion, please feel welcome to follow my work and maybe remember it for a moment longer.
Watercolor, acrylic, graphite, ink, clay, and digital are all mediums that I employ. I find it challenging to choose which story in my mind to bring to a finish first, so I end up working on 5 or 6 ideas at once.
I am not too sure what the logic is behind the influence I have seen with Mexican culture not that I have a problem with it far from it. I find it enthralling the amount of pop up bars, restaurants, food stalls, food wagons, tequila and burrito bars that are engaging the influences. On top of the exponential explosion of Mexican culture, I have seen large increase of “Day of the Dead”, parties surfacing across social media and friends of mine that have been DJing at events. Down the road from our place, we have a bar that offers “$4 dollar burritos”, this menu falls on a Wednesday, which is particular handy especially when I get paid on a Thursday and my wallet is weigh down with coins as opposed to notes.
Krisztianna Muertita embodies that amazing Mexican culture with her art depicting seasons With five in the series—Momma Muertita, Spring Muertita, Summer Muertita, Autumn Muertita, and Winter Muertita—each sculpture is a brilliant mix of colour and conceptual vision.
